Explore the magic of trash
In this bewitched youth exchange you will meet young people from France, Netherlands, Italy, Bulgaria and Croatia. For 10 days we will live together at the eco-project „Catfarm“ in the south of France (near Montpellier), exchanging ideas, getting to know each other, transforming stuff, cooking together and sleeping in tents.
Topic
The exchange will be about waste management and raising awareness around overconsumption, (inner)ecology, circular economy and plastic management. We will build our skills through various activities such as DIY waste management (building seabins for the harbour of Sète, „Sharing boxes“ for a circular giving system for the village of Poussan, art’cycling…) and visiting businesses in the circular economy and waste management (e.g. a ressource center, another urban farm, …).
Open spaces are planned for participants to learn to share their knowledge and practices.
The participants will also be immersed in an eco-responsible community. We will cook our own (vegetarian and vegan) food, try to reduce our waste and ecological footprint, power and heat for the showers will come from the sun and we will sleep in tents.
Here you get more information here and here.
Of course we also want to have a lot of fun, so the exchange has another theme and we will all bring costumes for that: “Witches and Wizards of Trash Magic”.
Logistics
If you are between 18 and 26 years and living in Berlin you can apply. We are especially looking for people who usually have little opportunity to travel in Europe. You should be able to communicate in English and be interested in the topic. We expect all participants to fully engage in the program.
We will travel together by train. There is no participant fee although we might have to cover part of the travel costs (depends on the prices).
